Cougars Football Starts Prowl For Sectional Title

The Cougars are going hunting this weekend.

The Chatham High School football team heads into the North 2, Section 3 playoffs this weekend looking for a sectional title, but it will be no easy task.

Despite a 7-2 record and a share of the NJAC-American division crown, the Cougars were given a No. 6 seed in the bracket, and will head to No. 3 Barringer this weekend, with kick off set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.

If Chatham can emerge from round one, it will take on the winner of No. 2 Nutley vs. No. 7 West Essex in the semifinals set for Nov. 20.

Barringer is no easy mark, either, coming in with an 8-0 record on the season.
