Downed Wires Cause Outages in Township

Power lines along Fairmount Avenue went down Wednesday during the rain storm, causing sporadic outages in Chatham Township.

Workmen from Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), along with the , were on the scene near the intersection of Fairmount Avenue and Runnymede Road.

According to JCP&L employees, power could be restored as soon as 3 p.m.

It is not known at this time how many customers were affected or what caused the wires to go down.
