Drunken Driver Causes 3-Car Crash on Main Street, Police Say

Florham Park man lost control turning off Brooklake Road, Chatham police said.

A driver who crashed into two cars this week after turning onto Main Street in Chatham was intoxicated, authorities said.

Sean Leach, 30, of Florham Park, was turning left onto Main Street from Brooklake Road at about 3 p.m. Monday when his 2001 Ford struck the curb, crossed the center line, and hit two cars waiting in traffic, Chatham Borough police spokesman Kevin O'Shea said in a news release.

Leach's car, which allegedly went into the turn at "a high rate of speed," hit one car, spun around and hit the same car again, and then struck another car, according to police. No injuries were reported. Leach's vehicle and one of the cars he hit were towed.

Leach was charged with DWI, DWI in a school zone, reckless driving, failure to keep right, corrective lenses required, and having unsafe tires, police said. He was released to a family member, according to police
