Environmental Chair supports Karen Koronkiewicz and Miles Gilmore for Chatham Borough Council
Borough Council election endorsement

As Chair of the Chatham Borough Environmental Commission (EC), I have worked with both Karen Koronkiewicz and Miles Gilmore at the Sustainability Fair, Native Plant Sales, Arbor Day, Earth Day, and “Celebrate Trails” Day. I am pleased to endorse both Karen and Miles for Borough Council. Both are thoughtful, pragmatic leaders who put residents and community well-being first.
Council Member Karen Koronkiewicz has shown steady leadership in public safety, budgeting, and environmental stewardship. As Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee and Liaison to the EC, Shade Tree Commission, and Joint Meeting, she has guided Chatham through challenging financial times, safeguarded the Borough’s tree canopy, and championed infrastructure and pedestrian safety improvements—all while keeping taxes stable. Her professional background in finance and contract negotiation ensures fiscal responsibility and long-term planning.
Miles Gilmore, a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and business executive, brings decades of experience in logistics, management, and public service. A Commissioner on the Shade Tree Commission and Vice Commander of the NJ Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars, Miles exemplifies civic commitment through volunteerism and teamwork, particularly in his work as a coach and scoutmaster.
