Gobble Gobble! Chatham Turkey Trot to Benefit Fire Dept., Diabetes Research

Seventh annual event to waddle through town on Nov. 26.

It’s time to stretch this wings and thighs and get those feathers flapping: The annual Chatham Turkey Trot is set for Thanksgiving Day.

The seventh annual event is set for 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26, and will benefit the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department and Diabetes Research Institute. Anyone registering before 5 p.m. Nov. 16 can enter for $15 per person and receive a t-shirt. Registrants on race day will cost $25.

The one-mile race will weave its way through The Highlands section of the township. Over the past seven years, the event has raised more than $60,000.

Registration and warm-ups begin at 8 a.m. with the one-mile family fun run at 8:30 a.m. The USA Track & Field Certified 5K Race will begin at 9 a.m., followed by an award ceremony at 9:50 a.m.
