Hit-And-Run Driver Sought After Striking Girl, 17, In Chatham: Cops
Incident occurred overnight on Jan. 31, police said.

CHATHAM, N.J. – Police are investigating an alleged hit-and-run accident that hurt a pedestrian on Jan. 31 and asking for the public’s assistance.
Police responded to the area of 29 Elmwood Avenue at 2:19 a.m. for a report of a hit-and-run, police said. The victim, a 17-year-old female, reported that around 12:30 a.m. she was sitting on a snowbank near the driveway of 27 Elmwood Avenue when she was struck by a car, police said.
She said the vehicle was either a black GMC or Mercedes Benz SUV. A door-to-door search of the area was conducted but no leads developed.
