ICYMI: Chatham Alum's Pitching Prowess Grabs NCAA Award

Amanda Fazio's dominant stretch in Florida trip lands her Patriot League Pitcher Of The Week honors.

CHATHAM, N.J. – The weather may still be chilly, but Amanda Fazio’s already warmed up.

The Chatham High School grad received the NCAA’s Patriot League Pitcher of the Week award for giving up just four runs in four starts in games against Rider, Indiana State, and Albany for her Bucknell Broncos.

Fazio, a Junior, has pitched 25 innings and tossed a pair shutouts against Rider. In one of those games she allowed just one hit while striking out 11. Throughout the week in the Florida tournament, she struck out 23 and notched a svelte ERA of just 1.12.

Fazio’s prowess isn’t just on the mound, either. She recorded five hits, scored three runs, and stole eight bases in those games.

The pitcher’s overall 1.1 ERA is currently ranked 12th in the nation and has 66 strikeouts against only nine walks.
