Joe Barrette for Chatham Borough Council

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

I’m, once again, proud to offer my full support for Joe Barrette in his campaign for Chatham Borough Council. I’ve known Joe for years through our shared commitment to scouting, where we’ve spent countless hours mentoring young people and building community. Whether around a campfire or in a planning meeting, Joe consistently shows up with calm leadership, practical wisdom, and a deep sense of service.

Joe leads by example. He’s not interested in recognition—he’s focused on results. He listens, collaborates, and always puts the needs of Chatham first. His ability to unite people around shared goals is something I’ve witnessed time and again, and it’s exactly what our town needs in a council member.

Professionally, Joe brings a wealth of experience in real estate finance and public investment. His work in banking, insurance, and affordable housing gives him a unique perspective on the challenges facing our community. As Chatham continues to navigate its affordable housing obligations, Joe’s insight and steady approach will be a tremendous asset.

But what truly sets Joe apart is his character. He’s honest, generous, and deeply committed to the well-being of others. I’ve seen him go out of his way to help neighbors, support youth programs, and serve without fanfare. That kind of integrity is rare—and it’s exactly what we need in local government.
