New Borough CFO Approved
Council voted unanimously to approve Michael Mariniello to replace Tammie Kopin.

The Council appointed Michael Mariniello to the role of chief financial officer Monday night.
Mariniello was appointed as the after former CFO Tammie Kopin resigned in February. Kopin was offered a position as Director of Finance and Assistant Business Administrator in another town.
According to the resolution approved by the council, Mariniello will receive an annual salary of $95,000 with no health or pension benefits.

The borough also approved a resolution to enter into a contract with Hendricks Appraisal Company, LLC. The company will help the borough manage numerous tax appeals received this year.
Mayor Bruce Harris said the borough codes governing the municipal court were, by an oversight, never replaced with the codes authorizing the joint municipal court with Chatham Township, Harding and Madison. The council corrected the oversight when they passed an ordinance on second reading Monday repealing the Chatham Borough Municipal Court code and replacing it with codes establishing the Joint Court, the municipal prosecutor and the public defender.

The council rescinded their appointment of the law firm of Morrison Mahoney, LLC as special counsel and approved instead Ingelsino, Pearlman, Wyciska & Taylor, LLC for special counsel in the lawsuit against Tricare Treatment Services, LLC. The attorney, Denis E. Driscoll, the borough used from Morrison Mahoney has instead taken employment with Ingelsino, Pearlman, Wyciska & Taylor. The appointment was made "under the same terms and conditions" as the borough's agreement with Morrison Mahoney.
