Puppet Enlivens Middle School French Class

Dr. Joan Jensen, who teaches French and German at , showed off her skills as a ventriloquist for her sixth grade French class when they were recently visited by Jensen's puppet Georgette.

Jensen uses her puppets to educate and to entertain her students. "It is important to use creative ways to motivate the students," Jensen said. "This year, we have utilized music, dance, mime, skits, songs, stories, puppets, computers, technology, the SmartBoard, and much more to teach and learn the French language and French culture.” 

After Georgette taught the students a French song, she walked away impressed with their abilities. "I love her French students! They speak très bien!" Georgette said.
