Rain Forecast Cancels Second Chatham Community Appreciation Day

With a rainy forecast for the weekend, the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department decided to cancel Saturday's community event.

CHATHAM, NJ — The Chatham Community Appreciation Day event has been canceled owing to another weekend of rain, according to the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Organizers decided this week to cancel the annual event planned for Saturday due to a forecast of inclement weather.

This event will not be rescheduled, officials said.

"Due to the inclement weather forecasted, this year’s CTVFD Annual Community Appreciation Day is canceled. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you next year," the volunteer fire department said on Wednesday night.

The community event was planned to take place at the Chatham Township Municipal Building on Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m.

Chatham is expected to have rain on Saturday and continue into the next week.
