Shoplifting, Vehicle Burglary: Chatham Township Police Blotter

Chatham Township police identified a suspect in a previous shoplifting that occurred at a local business, they said.

CHATHAM, NJ — In recent weeks, Chatham Township has seen the arrest of both a shoplifting suspect and a vehicle burglary suspect. The following information was compiled from Chatham Township police department records.

On Nov. 8, Detectives Ronald Anderson and Michael Bloom identified a suspect in a previous shoplifting that had occurred at a township store.

The suspect, Nariah Rivera, 20, of Clayton, was charged with one count of shoplifting for stealing a plant valued in excess of $140.

Rivera is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court in December, police said.

On Nov. 11, police officers responded to a township business located at 641 Shunpike Road for a reported motor vehicle burglary and the theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Jessica Paget, 33, of Morristown, was found to have entered her coworker's vehicle, stolen her credit card and then attempted to make a $450 purchase at a local business, police determined after reviewing security footage and other evidence

Following an investigation, Paget was issued an arrest warrant for burglary of a motor vehicle, theft of a credit card, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Paget voluntarily surrendered to Chatham Township Police on Nov. 30, and was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.
