Walk Through Chatham’s ‘Winter Wonderland’ For A Good Cause

Find out how to pick up tickets now for a spectacular and festive holiday event benefitting the Chatham Education Foundation.

CHATHAM, NJ — Twinkling holiday lights, festive cookies paired with hot cocoa, carolers, Santa and Frosty the Snowman, are part of an enjoyably-festive evening coming up to benefit the Chatham Education Foundation.

The Education Foundation, a group that fundraises for equipment, professional development, special projects and other positive initiatives that aim to benefit the School District of the Chathams, is hosting the “Winter Wonderland” fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 12.

From 4:30 to 8 p.m., rain or shine in the Manor Section of Chatham Borough, enter on the corner of Coleman Avenue and Burgess Street, to take part in winter activities lined for families to enjoy together.

Parking for the event is at the Milton Avenue School.

Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman have made their way down from the North Pole for the evening, to visit with kids and their families. There are strolling carolers, holiday cookies, cups of piping hot chocolate and much more to enjoy, under glimmering holiday lights.

How to get tickets to Winter Wonderland:

  • There’s a presale offer to donate $40 to the Education Foundation and receive tickets for a family of up to five people.
  • A single ticket to the event is available for a $10 donation.
  • The group is seeking volunteers to help, before, during and after the event. To volunteer, select the option to “buy” a volunteer ticket; and the Chatham Education Foundation will reach out to volunteers to coordinate their shift during the event.
  • A donation in lieu of tickets is another option for those who’d simply like to donate to the group; or buy a ticket plus donate.

Since the start of the school’s fiscal year beginning on July 1, Cheryl Whitney - the grants chair of the group - reported to the Board of Education at its most recent meeting, the Chatham Education Foundation has been able to give over $62,000 in grant monies to the school district.
