1 Hospitalized After NJ Turnpike Fire Engulfs Truck In Flames

An accident on the NJ Turnpike before Exit 3 resulted in the fiery crash, officials said.

RUNNEMEDE, NJ - One occupant of a box truck that caught fire on the New Jersey Turnpike was hospitalized Thursday, authorities said.

The crash that resulted in the fire took place at around 4:45 p.m. before Exit 3 on the turnpike, the Runnemede Fire Department said in a statement.

The occupant of the box truck sustained a “serious injury,” fire officials added. It wasn’t immediately clear what the condition of the occupant was Friday morning.

The incident is under investigation by New Jersey State Police.
