Ballet In The Park Makes Debut In Cherry Hill

The School of Philadelphia Ballet is bringing a free outdoor performance to the township.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Outdoor ballet will make its Cherry Hill debut with a professional performance by the School of Philadelphia Ballet.

This is the first time Cherry Hill has offered ballet in the park. The event is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Croft Farm (100 Bortons Mill Rd.).

The School of Philadelphia Ballet will perform "Peter and the Wolf." The event is free and open to all ages.

Attendees should bring chairs or blankets for comfortable viewing.

The first-time event is designed to bring professional ballet to a family-friendly, inclusive setting, removing the formality that can make traditional ballet feel intimidating, according to township officials.

"We continue to look for new and accessible ways to connect our residents with the arts and culture to bring residents of all ages together," Mayor Dave Fleisher said in a statement. "Partnering with the School of Philadelphia Ballet to present an outdoor performance at our historic property offers families a relaxed and inviting way to experience the ballet."

The rain date is Oct. 4.
