Cherry Hill Man Tried To Meet Boy At Dog Park For Sexual Assault: Prosecutor

The man chatted online with an undercover detective who was posing as a 14-year-old boy, authorities said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill man is facing charges after authorities say he tried to arrange a sexual encounter with an underage boy at a dog park.

Nimrod Lasman, 62, communicated on a chat application with an undercover detective who was posing as a 14-year-old boy on Monday, authorities said. During the conversation, Lasman arranged to meet the boy in a park to sexually assault him, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Later that day, Lasman went to Cooper River Dog Park for the arranged meeting and was arrested, authorities said.

Lasman was charged with second-degree counts of attempted child luring and attempted sexual assault. He was detained in the Camden County Correctional Facility, with his first court appearance scheduled for Thursday.

Attorney information for Lasman wasn't immediately available in online court records.
