Cherry Hill Police Extend No Shave November To Fight Cancer

The Cherry Hill Police Department's "No Shave December" is helping a member of the law enforcement community who's fighting cancer.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — After extending No Shave November into December, Cherry Hill police have already reached their goal to help a member of the law enforcement community that is battling cancer.

“Each November, members of Cherry Hill PBA Local 176 and the Cherry Hill Police Department participate in the No-Shave November Campaign to raise money for cancer awareness and to find a cure,” organizer Dennis Moore wrote in a GoFundMe post. “We recently discovered a family in the Law Enforcement community is dealing with health issues; as such, we've decided to continue No-Shave into the month of December. Each participating member of the PBA and PD will donate $50 and keep their facial hair through the month of December. At the end of the month, all proceeds will be donated to help this family in need.”

The fundraiser’s goal was set at $3,000. By Friday morning, they had already raised more than $5,000, and donations were still coming in.To make a donation, visit the No Shave December GoFundMe page.

No Shave November is an annual monthlong campaign in which police officers forego shaving to raise money and awareness for cancer.

Cherry Hill police officers and staff use money they would otherwise spend on shaving to evoke conversation regarding cancer and raise money for cancer research, education, and prevention.
