Creativity Required In Cherry Hill 'No-Snow Snowman' Contest
Residents are urged to break out their craft supplies and foraged items for this unique snowman-building contest.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — There's one kind of snowman that can be built year-round: one made of trash, craft supplies or foraged goods. So, even if there's no snow on the ground, Cherry Hill Public Library's "No-Snow Snowman" contest is fun for the whole family.
Put simply, contest participants must use materials other than snow to build a snowman. The library recommends hay bales, paper lanterns, tires, plastic cups, tomato cages, trash bags, pumpkins, shredded paper and other items found around the home.
Once made, the snowmen will be displayed outside the library, and residents will vote online for their favorites. Winners will be announced on Feb. 16.

Participants must register online and pay a $20 entry fee. Up to six teammates can participate on one team. They must then install their no-snow snowmen in front of the library between Jan. 25 and Jan. 30 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The library said prizes will be given to the three snowmen that receive the most votes.
