CHERRY HILL, NJ — A golf course that has stood in South Jersey for decades is now under new ownership and has a new name.

Four months after making the initial announcement of the purchase, Lahn Real Estate owner and South Jersey native Randy Lahn and his wife, Patricia, officially took ownership of Woodcrest Country Club last week.

The property, which is being renamed The Legacy Club at Woodcrest effective immediately, has played a significant role in their family for generations, according to the new owners.

“From my father to our son Alex, this club has played a significant role in our family for generations,” Randy Lahn said. “We are considering a number of different amenities that will enable us to create a premium club experience for the entire family.”

The Lahn legacy with Woodcrest dates back 60 years to Randy’s father, Herb, who was a club president in the 1960s. Randy and Patricia’s son, Alex, represents the family’s third generation of membership.

Woodcrest Country Club was founded in 1929, and sits on 178 acres of land. The club offers players impeccable conditions including, well-manicured fairways, slick greens and deep bunkers.

With magnificent views and beautiful landscaping, Woodcrest is a testament to the talent and expertise of golf-course-architect William S. Flynn.

The Lahns said they envision the club, which will remain private, as an exclusive retreat for the entire family. They have partnered with the architectural design firm of SWABACK Architects + Planners, an Arizona based firm with a worldwide practice, to develop an array of new amenities and improvements.

Potential expansion options in consideration include a fitness center, pickle ball, family recreation space, and an indoor/outdoor pool which would be added to the club’s already impressive list of amenities.

Upgrades and expansion will begin next year with improvements to the clubhouse and facilities including new paint, wallpaper, flooring, windows, and more. Substantial course enhancements to the driving range and 10th and 14th holes will be completed before the 2022 season, as well.

The Legacy Club at Woodcrest is located at 300 East Evesham Road in Cherry Hill. For more information about the club, events, dining, membership and more, visit the club’s website.
