Man Charged In Fatal Cherry Hill Hit-And-Run Arrested: Police

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A 29-year-old Philadelphia man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a woman while she crossed Route 70 in Cherry Hill on Thanksgiving has surrendered, police announced on Friday.
Michael R. Rodgers Jr. surrendered to police Friday morning, Cherry Hill police said. He has been charged with second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a fatal accident and fourth-degree obstructing the administration of law. Police have also identified the victim as 29-year-old Tabreia R. Ewing, of Camden.
Ewing was crossing Route 70 in the area of the f the Garden State Park shopping complex at about 7:10 p.m. when she was struck, according to police.

She was crossing the westbound lanes when she was hit by a dark-colored car near the center median, police said. Without stopping, the car continued west on Route 70, police said.

After he surrendered on Friday, Rodgers was remanded to the Camden County Jail pending a pre-trail detention hearing, police said.
Ewing's brother, Josh, told 6 ABC that he last saw his sister on Thanksgiving morning before her work shift at Wawa.

A viewing for Ewing has been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 11 at Faith Tab Church of the Loving God, 553 Spruce Street in Camden, according to May Funeral Home. A funeral service follows at 11 a.m., followed by an interment at Sunset Memorial Park, 1605 Union Avenue in Pennsauken.
