Pennsauken Man to be Arraigned on Fatal Crash Charges

Keith Johnson has been in medical treatment since the January crash.

A Pennsauken man who police said was at the wheel of an SUV involved in a fatal crash on Chapel Avenue in Merchantville will make his first court appearance Friday, more than six months after the accident.

Keith Johnson, 31, who witnesses claimed was going 100 mph down Chapel Avenue before the wreck, was charged with two counts of death by auto and one count of aggravated assault, police said, and will face an afternoon arraignment on those charges in Superior Court in Camden.

Johnson, who was also injured in the crash, has been treated both at Cooper University Hospital in Camden and a state prison medical facility since the crash, authorities said, and has only just recently recovered enough to make a court appearance.
