West Field Hockey Beats Winslow Township [Photos]
The Lions took an early lead and never looked back in the win.
It took a little while for Cherry Hill West's field hockey team to get it going Monday, but once it did, Winslow Township never stood a chance.
West scored the game's first goal just shy of eight minutes into the game, off a shot from Alisia Mardino, and her teammates didn't waste any time, turning that into a 3-0 lead over the next six minutes, en route to a 5-1 victory.
West got goals from four different players—Mardino, Jamie Robertson and Laura Versace all scored once, and Katie Stetser added a goal in each half to pace the Lions.
The win comes a week ahead of the Lions' scheduled tilt against crosstown rival Cherry Hill East, which comes to West on Sept. 30 at 3:45 p.m.
