1 Rescued From Roof Monday After Burlington Co. House Fire

The blaze broke out in a three-story building Monday morning, according to one of the fire companies on scene.

DELANCO, NJ — Firefighters rescued one person from the back roof of a residence in Delanco on Monday morning during a two-alarm fire, officials said.

First responders were met with heavy flames in a three-story, multi-family dwelling on Burlington Avenue at around 5:00.

The Third District Volunteer Fire Company, Station 14 out of Bucks County, Pennsylvania responded to the scene, and noted that there was someone on the roof of the building who needed rescuing. The Bristol-based fire company was deployed as a Rapid Intervention Team, and brought a truck with a 200-foot ladder to help extinguish flames on the roof.

Officials did not say if anyone was injured in the fire, or list the condition of the person who was rescued.

Burlington Avenue road is still closed between Buttonwood Street and the Delanco-Riverside Bridge, per Delanco police.

"Avoid the area and find alternate routes," police said.
