Two NJ Teens Shot, One Killed In Targeted Attack: Police
A 17-year-old boy was killed in a double shooting at a home in Pemberton late Monday night, police said.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — One teenager was killed and another was hospitalized in what authorities say was not a random shooting at a home in Pemberton Monday night.
Malachi Treherne, 17, of Pemberton, was fatally shot at a home in which he was staying on the 100 block of Snow Avenue Monday night, according to authorities.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at the home just after 11:30 p.m., at which time they found Treherne lying in the doorway, according to authorities.

He was pronounced deceased on the scene, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Pemberton Township Police Chief David King said.
Police also found a 17-year-old girl who had been shot in the chest. She was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where she was in stable condition as of Tuesday morning, police said.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning. Anyone with information that might be helpful to investigators is asked to call Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113.

The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Pemberton Township Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Office. The lead investigators are Prosecutor’s Office Detective Erica Ridge and Pemberton Township Detective Anthony Luster.
