18-Year-Old Fugitive Flees Cops, Crashes: Police

Palmyra Police say they caught a pair of fugitives on Route 73 Friday.

A pair of alleged fugitives tried to elude police—on tires and on foot—without success Friday, according to a report.

Palmyra Police attempted to stop a stolen SUV near Koz’s BMW on Route 73 South around 1 p.m., according to the report. The driver—later identified as Chaudae Harper, 18, of Philadelphia—ignored the officer and sped off down the highway.

Harper lost control of the vehicle at 73 and Hylton Road in Pennsauken, taking out a traffic signal at the intersection and striking another vehicle that was waiting in traffic at the light, police said. Harper and her passenger—Lawrence Boatwright III, 31, of the Bronx, NY—climbed out of the SUV through the sunroof and took off on foot. Both were located and apprehended within minutes.
