BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Here's a list of upcoming events in the Burlington County area, courtesy of our friends at Visit South Jersey, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, and the Outer Coast Plain Wine Region in South Jersey.
The Perkins Center for the Arts in Moorestown will host a Small Works Show through Dec. 18. Timed to line up with holiday shopping, this show features handmade gifts and fine art available for purchase. Find jewelry, wearable art, pottery, decorative art, and more. Laurita Winery in New Egypt offers up wine and bundt cakes during an event on Dec. 2, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A flight of Laurita’s four amazing wines will be offered. Attendees can choose a dry or sweet flight. Flights are paired with Chocolate Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Raspberry, Red Velvet and Lemon bundtini cakes (each person will receive their own individual box with four fork-tastic cakes) Each cake is handcrafted, just like their wines. Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford hosts a light show hayride this weekend. Hayrides take place between 4:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 4:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Fire and Lights in the Discovery Barnyard and Animal Farm take place from 4:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 4:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Mount Laurel will host its annual tree lighting ceremony with Rancocas Woods & Shops on Friday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be fun activities including pictures with Santa, face painting, brewery selections for adults, visit from Elsa and Buddy The Elf, and more. The Mount Laurel Fire Department will bring Santa on the fire truck at 6 p.m. to kick off the event. Taking place at 118 Creek Road in Mount Laurel. Maple Shade will host its Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Gazebo Park. There will be food trucks, craft vendors, music, activities and more. A single performance of “Handel’s Messiah” will be presented in the auditorium of the Burlington County Library in Westampton at 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free and open to the public, but seats are limited. Coronavirus protocols are in place, and all those attending the concert must wear a mask while in the building. Main Street in Medford will be transformed into a quaint winter wonderland, featuring holiday festivities galore with an old-time flair when the Dickens Festival comes to town from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. The festival is free and typically attracts more than 10,000 people from Medford and many surrounding communities. Locals never fail to catch up with old friends on the street. There’s something for everyone, including holiday carolers, great food, hot chocolate, magic, comedy, juggling, live presentations, free admission, and free parking. This fun, family event for all ages will take place rain or shine, and is co-hosted by the Main Street Merchants & the Medford Business Association. The Historic Smithville Mansion will host a Victorian Holiday Celebration from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The Victorian Holiday Celebration is an annual tradition at Historic Smithville Park that kicks off the holiday season with festive tours of the Smithville Mansion and Village. Take a ride on a train or horse-drawn carriage, try to stay on the Rodeo Reindeer, skate on the synthetic ice skating rink, and roast a S’more! Visit the Holiday Marketplace to shop for unique gifts for family and friends. Santa arrives by horse-drawn carriage, and there will be plenty of photo opportunities to capture the perfect family photo for your holiday cards! Live entertainment by The Village Carolers and the Cinnaminson Middle School Choir. Event is free. There is a nominal fee to tour the holiday decorated mansion.
