Back-to-School for Teachers, Outdoor Movies Highlight Week Ahead

Find out what else is going on this week—and tell us what we may have missed—in our look at the week ahead.

Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend.

Students in Cinnaminson School District have another week of "no more pencils, no more books ...," but teachers return to the classroom this week. Faculty and administration will get together for the district's annual "Welcome Back" breakfast Tuesday morning at the middle school, ahead of the students' first day back next Monday (Sept. 9).

Westfield Friends students' first day back is also next Monday.

Summer may be winding down, but the weather is still plenty summer-y, with highs in the low 80s for much of the week, then dipping to the mid- to low 70s on Friday and Saturday.

Got pipes? If you think you've got what it takes, stop by the chorus room at Cinnaminson High School at 7:30 Tuesday night for rehearsals for the Cinnaminson Community Chorus, which meets every Tuesday from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Cinnaminson girls U15 softball will hold tryouts Wednesday night at 7 at Wood Park.

And on Saturday, the township will host its annual outdoor movie night at Wood Park with a double feature of Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, followed by The Avengers. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. The rain date is Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m.
