BBQ Joint Closes, But A Local Favorite Will Replace It In Burlington Co.

A restaurant offering bold takes on burgers is taking its place.

WILLINGBORO, NJ — A local barbecue joint in Burlington County has closed, but another local favorite will take its place in Willingboro.

Founded in Trenton, 1911 Smoke House Barbecue opened another location in Willingboro last year.

That new restaurant was short-lived, closing in July. But another local eatery will move into the Willingboro space.

B-Unos operates several eateries in Burlington County, touting bold burgers, flavorful milkshakes and "world famous" birria tacos.

Their most popular burger is The Lowrider — two patties with cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, bacon, spicy BBQ sauce and fried jalapeños topped with a crispy onion ring.

B-Unos first opened eight years ago in Burlington and has since expanded to Mount Holly and Florence.

The original Burlington location closed in late August so B-Unos could relocate to Willingboro. In October, the restaurant will open in 1911's former spot (4736 Route 130).

"We are so excited to be apart of the Willingboro community and serve great food & hospitality," B-Unos announced on social media. "Stay tuned for our grand opening date!"

1911's restaurants in Trenton and the Newark Airport remain open.
