FedEx Truck Crash Dumps Packages Along Highway In Burlington Co.

2 tractor-trailers crashed, creating traffic jams on the Jersey Turnpike, officials said.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A FedEx truck jack-knifed during a crash early Thursday morning that scattered packages onto the New Jersey Turnpike.

Two tractor-trailers collided at about 5 a.m. Thursday on the southbound side in Springfield Township, Burlington County, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesperson.

No injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

The Jersey Turnpike South had a 2.5-mile traffic jam, with lane closures lasting into the morning commute. The roadway has since reopened.

Photos from CBS Philadelphia show a jack-knifed FedEx truck and packages throughout the roadway before sunrise.
