Flooding, Road Closures Around Burlington Co.: Latest Forecast

Several major roadways have fully or partially closed because of floods. Here's the latest.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Several roadways remain flooded Monday morning as rain continues to pound the Burlington County area.

Between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell in Greater Philadelphia as of 8:15 a.m., with more precipitation ahead. A flood warning remains in effect for Burlington, Mercer, Camden and Gloucester counties until 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying or flood-prone areas is "imminent or occurring," the warning says.

A flood watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon.

Numerous South Jersey roadways have fully or partially closed because of floods, according to the NJ Department of Transportation:

  • Route 130: all lanes closed and detoured in both directions at Route 551 in Brooklawn.
  • Route 30 westbound: two right lanes closed from Airport Circle/Route 130/Route 38 to Interstate 676/Ben Franklin Bridge.
  • Route 30 southbound: right lane closed at Route 723/Fleming Pike in Winslow Township.
  • Route 73: all lane closed in both directions at Route 537/Main Street in Maple Shade.
  • Route 206 southbound: right lane closed at Dunns Mills Road.

Here's the National Weather Service's latest Burlington County forecast:

  • Monday: Showers, mainly before 1pm. Temperature falling to around 49 by 5pm. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
  • Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
  • Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
