BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A pair of Halloween events are coming up in Burlington County this weekend, according to our friends at Visit South Jersey, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, and the Outer Coast Plain Wine Region in South Jersey.

Spooky Lantern Tours return to the Whitesbog Preservation Trust in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Saturday night, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is a family-friendly event to raise funds for the nonprofit Whitesbog Preservation Trust’s work in preserving the historic village and providing family programs. All of the helpers are volunteers and love sharing the spooky and creepy Historic Village with others. Tickets must be purchased In advance. No tickets will be sold the night of the event. Organizers ask that participants arrive on time for their time slot to allow them to spread out participants during the event. Choose your adventure. You can do one, two, or all three activities for the same ticket price. Check in at the General Store to get your bracelet, then head to the area you want to try first. The Haunted Lantern Tour into the Pine Barrens woods along the trail is self-guided. Organizers will space groups out to enjoy the spooky walk through the woods. Walkers will be on their feet, over some rough terrain, in the woods. Watch out for branches and creepy crawlies. We will walk in light rain, so come prepared. The hike distance is a little over a half mile. For more information, visit https://visitsouthjersey.com/events/spooky-lantern-tours-at-whitesbog/.

Rancocas Woods in Mount Laurel hosts a Trunk or Treat in the Woods event from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. We’ll be setting up behind the shops on Creek Road and would love everyone to join! DJ Blake will be back with us to keep everyone moving and grooving while we trick or treat around The Woods. Trunk or Treat is an outdoor event, in which a group of trusted adults/families in the community decorate the trunks of their cars for Halloween and pass out candy to children of friends and family in our community. It makes for a safer environment (with less walking) and room for activities. For more information, visit https://visitsouthjersey.com/events/trunk-or-treat-in-the-woods/.
