How Much Did It Rain In Burlington County? See The Latest Totals
Monday's thunderstorms brought nearly 7 inches of rain to some areas. Here's how much fell throughout Burlington County.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Monday's thunderstorms brought more than half a foot of rain to some areas, but Burlington County didn't get nearly as soaked.
Northern Delaware recorded the region's greatest rainfall at an estimated 6.8 inches of rain, while much of northwestern New Jersey received 2.5 to 5 inches, according to the National Weather Service. The worst of the storms, however, skipped over much of South Jersey and Greater Philadelphia.
Several rounds of storms hit the region in recent days. Here's how much rain landed in Burling County over the past 48 hours, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's rainfall data:

It could've been far worse for South Jersey. Roughly 32,000 New Jersey customers lacked power Monday evening. About 7,500 remained in the dark Tuesday morning — namely in Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris and Warren counties.
Another round of precipitation already moved in Tuesday morning. Monday's will likely turn out stormier, but there's a "marginal" chance of severe weather throughout most of New Jersey, including the southern region, according to the National Weather Service.

"Isolated severe storms and scattered instances of flooding will be possible again this afternoon and evening," the agency's Mount Holly office said. "Remain weather aware, especially if your area received significant rain yesterday or last night - additional flooding is most likely where heavy rains have already fallen.
Here's the National Weather Service's latest Burlington County forecast:
- Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Tuesday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 3 a.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Wednesday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
