Man With Loaded Gun, Knife Robs NJ Home Depot: Police
A man who was in possession of a fully loaded shotgun was arrested while fleeing the scene of a shoplifting incident at a Home Depot Sunday.
WESTAMPTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A South Jersey man who was in possession of a fully loaded shotgun was arrested while fleeing the scene of a shoplifting incident at the Westampton Township Home Depot on Sunday, according to police.
Mark C. Payne pointed a knife at the loss prevention officer while robbing the Home Depot at 2703 Burlington-Mt. Holly Road in Westampton at about 5 p.m. Sunday evening, store employees told Westampton police.
Police managed to track down Payne, who fled toward the parking lot after the robbery, and de-escalate the situation without further incident, police said.

During the arrest, police recovered a fully-loaded sawed-off shotgun, along with 29 shotgun rounds, 23, .22 caliber hollow nose bullets, two smoking pipes with suspected methamphetamine in them, five pocketknives, burglar tools, a tactical bulletproof vest police said he wore during the robbery, three hypodermic syringes and two glassine bags containing suspected methamphetamine.
Payne was arrested, processed and lodged at the Burlington County Jail pending a court appearance.
