New Dispensary Opens Next Week In Burlington County

Unlike many cannabis retailers in New Jersey, Daylite Cannabis is locally owned.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — South Jersey cannabis enthusiasts will soon have a new place to shop. And unlike many of the state's dispensaries, this one is locally owned.

Daylite Cannabis (1136 Route 73, Mount Laurel), a recreational dispensary, will hold a soft opening from 12-8 p.m. Tuesday. A grand-opening date will be announced soon, the business says.

Many of New Jersey's dispensaries are owned by multi-state corporations — a concern often brought up by state residents who are skeptical of the cannabis industry's local economic and social impacts. Both operating dispensaries in Burlington County are owned by Curaleaf — a New York-based corporation and the world's largest cannabis company by revenue.

Daylite Cannabis, however, is owned by friends and family with strong ties to Mount Laurel and the surrounding area, according to the business's website.

"Our aim is to be the preferred dispensary for South Jersey," the business says.
