New Sex Ed Curriculum Will Be Taught In Cinnaminson Schools, Superintendent Says
The new sexual education curriculum has caused controversy in many parts of New Jersey since its introduction earlier this year.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson Township School District will teach the State of New Jersey's new sex education curriculum during the 2022-23 school year, the district superintendent said.
As Patch has previously reported, the new sexual education curriculum has caused concern in Cinnaminson and many other parts of the Garden State since its introduction by the Murphy administration earlier this year.
In response to those concerns, Cinnaminson Township School District parents should rely on the school district's website, not the social media of private citizens, to keep abreast of the district's plans in implementing the new sexual education curricula, according to District Superintendent Stephen Cappello.

Some of the things posted on social media that were said to be "possible lessons" for the new curriculum "Cinnaminson never considered implementing, was never implemented and has no intentions of implementing," he told Patch after the board of education's Aug. 30 meeting.
"Nothing on the [school district's] website's model activity was the cause of concern," Cappello added.

Parents who remain concerned about the school board's decision to implement the new sexual education curriculum were encouraged to contact Frank Goulburn, the district's director of curriculum and instruction, to see what other educational options for their children may be available, according to Cappello.
