Teen Charged After Shooting 13-Year-Old In South Jersey: Officials

A 14-year-old boy faces weapons charges in connection with a shooting that injured a 13-year-old at a South Jersey residence, say officials.

MILLVILLE, NJ - .A 14-year-old boy has been charged with weapons offenses in connection with a shooting that injured a 13-year-old boy, authorities said.

The 13-year-old, of Millville, was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. He has been released from the hospital, officials said Thursday morning.

Officials said the 14-year-old is in police custody before review by a Superior Court judge, and that the state will move to keep him in detention.

The prosecutor's office reiterated Thursday that this was an isolated incident and does not pose a threat to the general public.
