'Mulch Fest,' Curbside Pickup, More: How Cinnaminson Residents Can Recycle Christmas Trees
The looming end of the holiday season doesn't mean the end of festivities — not with 'Mulch Fest' coming up.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Although the holiday season is winding down, Burlington County is trying to build a new tradition for residents getting rid of their Christmas trees: "Mulch Fest."
Residents can bring undecorated trees to the Burlington County Fairgrounds (1990 Jacksonville-Jobstown Rd., Springfield) through Jan. 11. Anyone bringing trees should enter the park at Gate 2 and place them within the enclosed barricade.
No artificial, bagged or flocked trees will be accepted. All stands, lights, tinsel, wires, ornaments and garland must be removed, according to county officials.

The trees will be mulched during the inaugural Mulch Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 11 at the fairgrounds. Residents can come and take mulch for their home garden or landscaping project. Bring your own tools and containers for mulch.
"Bringing your trees to the Fairgrounds for Mulch Fest gives the trees a second life and helps keep our county green," County Commissioner Tom Pullion said in a statement. "Our residents are invited to take home free mulch, and any remaining supplies will be used in our County parks."
