2 Trucks Crash, Shutting Down Jersey Turnpike In Burlington Co.

The northbound side was shut down for several hours after one of the vehicles overturned.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A tractor-trailer overturned after colliding with another truck Wednesday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County, authorities said.

The Freightliner commercial tractor-trailer and Isuzu box truck collided at 6:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes in Springfield Township, according to State Police. The tractor-trailer then jackknifed and overturned.

The box truck driver was brought to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Officials shut down the Jersey Turnpike North for several hours. One northbound lane is open as of this writing.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash, which remains under investigation.
