Record-Breaking Floods, 62 MPH Winds From Storm In Burlington County
Residents were rescued from homes, and several outages linger. Here's what to know in the storm's aftermath.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — The powerful rainstorm brought record-breaking flooding, powerful winds and a busy night for first responders in Burlington County.
Several roadways and bodies of water remained flooded Wednesday morning, as 1,622 Burlington County customers still lacked power as of 11 a.m., according to PSE&G.
The Delaware River reached a major flood stage early Wednesday morning in the City of Burlington, cresting at a record-breaking 11.99 feet. The previous high was 11.9 feet on Sept. 1, 2021, according to county officials.

Flooding prompted water rescues from homes throughout the county — three each in Cinnaminson and Delran, and one apiece in Palmyra, Bordentown City and Riverside. All evacuated residents are housed, and no sheltering operations are occurring, a county spokesperson said.
A coastal flood warning in Burlington County remains in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday, with 1-2 feet of inundation in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

The floods impacted more than 50 homes in Delran — predominantly around Alden and Stewart Avenues and River Drive.
A house fire also broke out in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township.
Route 38 eastbound is closed because of a downed pole by Route 612/Pine Street in Mount Holly, according to the NJ Department of Transportation. One eastbound lane is closed for emergency construction on the portion of the roadway at Route 691/Main Street in Lumberton.
Willingboro (439 without power), Fieldsboro (288), Burlington Township (194) and Moorestown (187) have the highest outage totals among the county's municipalities as of 11 a.m. Wednesday. PSE&G anticipates that many will regain power in the afternoon.
Coyle Field, a private-use airport in Chatsworth, has the county's highest-recorded rainfall total of 3.14 inches as of 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). McGuire Air Force Base topped the county with 62 mph winds.
The NWS data is preliminary and subject to change.

Forecasters expect another storm to hit the region Friday night through Saturday, when some floods may still be receding. Here's the NWS's latest forecast for Burlington County:
- Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Breezy, with a west wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
- Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
- Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 47. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30. Southwest wind around 5 mph.
- Friday: A chance of rain, mainly after 4 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Friday night: Rain before 10 p.m., then rain and possibly a thunderstorm between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., then rain after 4 a.m. Low around 43. Windy. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 57. Windy.
