Victim Identified In Deadly Tacony-Palmyra Bridge​ Crash

Police said the 35-year-old man was a Camden resident.

PALMYRA, NJ — The man killed in a five-car crash on Monday evening has been identified by police as 35-year-old Camden resident Gerardo Francisco Perez Martinez.

The crash happened at 6:49 p.m. Monday in the westbound lanes of the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge. Police said two cars were speeding on the bridge when one of the cars clipped another, sending it speeding into an eastbound lane. There, the car struck a Honda Civic, killing its driver, police said.

All told, the crash involved five cars and left five people with injuries.

Although all five people were taken to a hospital for treatment, officials say no injuries other than those of Martinez were life-threatening. The name of the driver killed in the crash had not been released as of writing.
