I have been going to Action Karate as a kid for over 3 years and during those 3 years, I learned important skills such as perseverance, focus, grit, and self-discipline. These are core principles taught in Action Karate that every student learns at Action Karate. These principles are also applied through our physical activity, as students try their hardest to follow one of the core principles of the week. For example, if the week is learning about determination, students will try to apply determination in class by fighting through fatigue, no matter how tired they are. These practices can help kids apply this to their daily lives, like studying, doing a hard task, or participating in a challenging extracurricular. Action Karate helps instill all of these important

In addition, Action Karate is a great way to help your kids socialize, exercise, and give you a break for 40 minutes. Working with partners is something that occurs in every lesson, whether it be done through self-defense, or holding targets for each other. All partner work is done safely and friendships are built through these experiences. Also, the instructors are brimmed with energy and positivity to inspire your kid. Even with martial arts being the basis of karate, Action not only helps your kids by teaching them how to defend themselves but also teaches them to become respectful, hard-working individuals. Kids are taught to bow on the mat, show respect, and answer instructions with "Yes sir," or "Yes Ma'am." Although this may seem strict, I would argue that Action Karate is not strict, which might be one of Action's problems. No instructor has ever yelled at a kid, even for acting up. They respond calmly, making sure not to shame them and cause discomfort.

Action karate teaches many fundamental punches and kicks and occasionally some advanced kicks. However, self-defense is one of its main specialties. As mentioned, many self-defenses are taught in Action, and this is one of the most beneficial skills to have as these situations happen the most in life. At Action Karate, your kids will gain core memories that will follow them for the rest of their lives, and they might even continue further into martial arts because of Action. Therefore, if you are looking for something to help your kid stay active, learn to become a well respected child, and help them gain new friends, I recommend trying out Action Karate.
