1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured In Union County Highway Crash
A Rahway man was pronounced dead following a crash at a highway intersection in Elizabeth Sunday morning, according to police.
UNION COUNTY, NJ — A Rahway resident was killed in a car crash in Elizabeth early Sunday morning after his car collided with another that was going through a green traffic signal, according to police.
A Jeep Gladiator, driven by a Pennsylvania man, was traveling east at the intersection of Maple Ave and Route 1&9 when it was hit by a Honda traveling north at around 4 a.m. on Sunday, Elizabeth spokesperson Ruby Contreras told Patch.
The driver of the Honda, a Rahway man, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the passenger was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, Contreras said.

The passenger is in critical condition, according to Contreras. She said the driver of the Gladiator is currently at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
All individuals involved have been identified but no notifications have been made, Contreras said.
