144 Deer Killed in Union County Hunt
Ash Brook Reservation and Oak Ridge Park were among the parks included in the Union County Deer Hunt

Clark, NJ -- Yesterday marked the sixth and final day of the 2016 Union County Deer Hunt.
The Union County Deer Management Program took place on Mondays from Jan. 4 through Feb. 8 at six Union County parks and one municipal park.
A total of 27 deer were killed in yesterday’s hunt bringing the total number of deer removed to date from the seven parks to 144.

The breakdown for each park is:
- Watchung Reservation (Berkeley Heights, Mountainside Scotch Plains, Springfield, Summit) - 50
- Passaic River Park (Summit portion) - 0
- Ash Brook Reservation (Clark, Scotch Plains) - 41
- Lenape Park (Cranford, Kenliworth, Springfield, Union, Westfield) - 8
- Nomahegan Park (Cranford, Kenliworth, Springfield, Union, Westfield) - 20
- Oak Ridge Park (Clark) - 15
- and the Hawk Rise Sanctuary (Linden) - 10
