4-Year-Old Boy + Father Hit By Car While Riding Bike In Linden: Police

Police said the boy is seriously injured and in critical condition. The father also suffered minor injuries.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — A four-year-old boy and his father were hit by a car while riding a bicycle in Linden Thursday morning, Linden police said.

A 32-year-old Linden man and his four-year-old son were riding a bike on Roselle Street across East St. George Ave. toward Chestnut Street when they were hit by a car as it made a left turn onto E. St. George Ave., police said.

The incident occurred at about 7:25 a.m. on Thursday, according to police.

The boy was seriously injured in the crash and was rushed to Newark University Hospital where he remains in critical condition, police said. The father also suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with Linden Police.

The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.

East St. George Ave is currently closed northbound between Roselle St & Bower St.
