Collapsed Sewer Grate, Crash With Injuries On Route 1&9 In Union County

Multiple lane closures and delays are being reported on the highway in Union County

LINDEN, NJ — A collapsed sewer grate and a crash with injuries are reportedly causing lane closures and delays on Route 1&9 in Linden Monday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m. a collapsed sewer grate is being reported on Route 1&9 northbound located north of East Scott Avenue in Linden, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation's 511NJ website.

As a result, one right lane of three lanes is closed causing a 5- to 10-minute delay.

Additionally, there is a crash with injuries on the southbound side of the highway located north of Woodlawn Avenue in Linden, according to 511NJ.

As a result, the two right lanes of three lanes are closed.
