Why are you seeking to run for school board? I am running for the board of education as a parent and taxpayer to be a strong voice for fellow Clark parents and taxpayers who are the real stakeholders of our school system. I believe our schools should provide a solid and relevant education to children that can prepare them with tangible skills to be independent and strong American citizens. I believe the curriculum should focus on Math/Science, Reading/Writing, Civics, and US & World History. There should also be a strong emphasis on individual responsibility and pride in the unprecedented success of the United States. I have spent time speaking with Clark parents, teachers, and school administration regarding the curriculum and I intend to be heavily involved with school budgeting to ensure our tax dollars are being most effectively used.
What is your stance on masks in schools? Mask-optional. Parental choice.
Should schools offer a virtual option? No.
What other issues do you feel must be tackled in the school district? Our "Stand For Students" ticket is focused on ensuring our district provides a solid educational basis for our children to grow up as independent, proud, and strong American citizens. We believe the Clark school district should focus on the below immediate priorities:
- Schools need to be open for full-time instruction
- Prioritize curriculum directly relevant to real world success
- Respect for and transparency with parents and teachers
- Fiscal responsibility
What sets you apart from the challenging candidates? I am just a regular parent with no ties to government. I have worked in the private sector my entire career and I intend to bring a fresh perspective to the Clark Board of Education as a patriotic citizen and a taxpayer.
