Holiday Celebration at Dr. Robinson Museum, Garwood Tree Lighting This Week

What's happening this week in Clark and Garwood.

From Monday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 8:

Hanukkah celebration with Israeli dancing: Join this weekly Israeli dance session for a special Hanukkah celebration at Clark's Temple Beth O'r/Beth Torah. Bring your menorah and candles and join for a little nosh and some dancing. Older children and teens welcome. Donations gladly accepted. Tuesday, 6:45 p.m.GWACC networking event at Shackamaxon: Join the Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce (which includes Garwood) for a festive evening of networking at Shackamaxon Country Club with chef-prepared buffet and cash bar. Guests welcome. Bring tons of business cards. Late registration: $60 for members, $70 for non-members. RSVP online at www.westfieldareachamber.comWednesday, 6 p.m.

Michael Winslow headlines Garwood PBA fundraiser at Crossroads: A special comedy fundraiser event to benefit the Garwood PBA Local #117 is being held on Thursday at Crossroads. The event will feature Michael Winslow, The Dumb Kids in the Back and Jerrold Benford. Michael Winslow is an American actor and comedian best known for his ability to make realistic sound effects using only his voice and know as the Man With 10,000 Voices. Thursday, 7:30 p.m.

The Polar Express reading at Barnes & Noble: The Polar Express event is a one-hour party highlighted by a special reading of the holiday classic by the Conductor at Barnes & Noble. Plus - activities, cookies and hot chocolate. Children are encouraged to wear their PJs. Friday, 7 p.m.

Garwood tree lighting: The annual Garwood tree lighting at Borough Hall includes Santa's arrival by fire truck for greeting guests and taking pictures. Refreshments will be served. Saturday, 5 p.m.

Holiday celebration at Clark's Dr. Robinson museum: Step back in time and join in as the museum traces the families who occupied the Dr. William Robinson Plantation and the traditions they may have embraced as they celebrated Christmas in the "colonies" through the years. Get your free picture with Santa Claus. The house will be filled the scent of food cooking over the open fire on the hearth for guests to taste. There will be a gingerbread house raffle and the gift shop is open. Admission is free. Saturday and Sunday, 12 – 4 p.m.

Tea with Mrs. Clause at Parti-licious: Come join for some holiday fun – tea with Mrs. Clause at Parti-licious in Garwood. $25.00 per child includes tea and/or hot chocolate, lots of treats, crafts, write your letter to Santa and a picture with Mrs. Clause to take home. Space is limited; call for a reservation. All ages welcome. Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. till noon. 

Candlelit yoga with live music: Enjoy candlelit live music, beat box & vinyasa flow with "GO W/ THE FLOW." The group is touring the country and will be stopping at Hot Yoga Revolution in Garwood for one night. All levels welcome. Sunday, 6 p.m.
