Luckily, there are tons of events, parades and haunted activities around Union County to check out this weekend — most of them completely free of charge.

Summit Halloween Parade
- Summit's annual parade, which includes a costume contest, will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 (rain date on Sunday) beginning at 2:45 p.m. The route will begin at Deforest Avenue and continue to Beechwood Road, Union Place, Maple Street and end at Summit's Village Green at 356 Broad Street.

Trick-or-Treating in Downtown Summit

- Kids and families can trick-or-treat at local businesses in Summit on Monday, Oct. 31 from 3 to 4 p.m. Participating businesses will have a sign in the window.
Ghostbusters Day in Cranford
- In honor of the classic film 'Ghostbusters,' Cranford is hosting a screening, as well as a S'mores Station and a visit from Ecto 1 on Saturday, Oct. 29.

'Trunk or Treat' In Clark
- This free event for Clark residents on Saturday will include activities such as a haunted corn maze, pumpkin carving, train rides, a DJ and more.

Halloween Food Truck Fest in Union
- All proceeds for this food truck event on Saturday will go toward the Boys and Girls Club of Union. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume.
