UNION COUNTY, NJ — Still scrambling for last minute Halloween plans?

Luckily, there are tons of events, parades and haunted activities around Union County to check out this weekend — most of them completely free of charge.

Summit Halloween Parade

  • Summit's annual parade, which includes a costume contest, will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 (rain date on Sunday) beginning at 2:45 p.m. The route will begin at Deforest Avenue and continue to Beechwood Road, Union Place, Maple Street and end at Summit's Village Green at 356 Broad Street.

Trick-or-Treating in Downtown Summit

  • Kids and families can trick-or-treat at local businesses in Summit on Monday, Oct. 31 from 3 to 4 p.m. Participating businesses will have a sign in the window.

Halloween Food Truck Fest in Union

  • All proceeds for this food truck event on Saturday will go toward the Boys and Girls Club of Union. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume.
