CLARK, NJ - A drug awareness program held last week at Clark’s Arthur L. Johnson High School drew a crowd of parents, law enforcement and education professionals aiming to learn the unfamiliar hazards of drug use hidden in plain sight.
Dubbed ““Hidden in Plain Sight'' and hosted by the Clark Drug Alliance, the Jan. 24 program involved DEA Special Agent Tim McMahon guiding attendees through an exhibit of a typical teenager’s bedroom. McMahon listed key substance abuse trends - including signs and symptoms to watch out for - and provided resources to help keep children drug-free.
The local star-studded list of attendees included Clark Juvenile Detective Brian Soos, retired Board of Education member Henry Varriano, Dominic Preite, Alliance Coordinator and Director of Recreation Ralph Bernardo, Heroes and Cool Kids Coordinator and Arthur L. Johnson High School teacher Jaimie Wronski, Arthur L. Johnson High School Principal Tara Oliveira, Clark Superintendent of Schools Ed Grande and Arthur L. Johnson High School Counselor Steve Kaelblein.
