Update from Linden Police: Linden officers rushed to the 400 block of North Wood Ave after reports of a fight.
Police said the suspects fled the scene before police arrived. The victim, a 19-year-old man from Elizabeth, was stabbed multiple times, according to police. He was treated on the scene and then rushed to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Moments later, officers found the suspect vehicle, a black 2011 Lincoln MKS, and tried to stop the car, but the driver refused to comply and a vehicle pursuit began.
Officers followed the vehicle into neighboring Roselle. Police said the vehicle stopped suddenly on the 100 block of E 10th St and the suspects ran from the scene.
An extensive search of the area was conducted, and three teenagers were taken into custody — a 16-year-old boy from Elizabeth and two 16-year-old boys from Roselle, police said.
Police said it was later learned that the vehicle was reported stolen from Beechwood.
This incident remains under investigation by the Linden Police Juvenile Aid Bureau, and anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Steve Zevlikaris at (908) 474-8520
